Monster Hunter Rise details gameplay systems, updated demo

More details for Monster Hunter Rise were shared in the latest digital Monster Hunter event, including information on online play, post-launch support, and the game’s demo.

It was confirmed that there’ll be five main areas in Monster Hunter Rise, mirroring the amount found in World. These areas include remade versions of two existing maps in the series, Flooded Forest and Sandy Plains.

Online play was shown to be a mix of old-school and World style questing. Quests will be split between the village and hunting hub, with the former being single player only. Hunting hub quests can be done solo, with difficulty scaling based on the amount of players present. In a similar move to World, it’s also possible to join in-progress hub quests at any time.

On March 11, an updated version of the Monster Hunter Rise demo will be made available. It includes every quest from the first demo, plus a challenging fight against flagship monster Magnamalo.

Finally, Elder Dragon Chameleos will make a return in the game’s first post-launch update, alongside uncapped Hunter Ranks. As with World, Monster Hunter Rise will be adding a number of monsters via free updates.
