Monster Hunter Wilds showcases new area, monster
The Gamescom Opening Night Live 2024 livestream included a number of announcements, with Capcom showcasing some of the content coming to Monster Hunter Wilds next year.
Monster Hunter Wilds’s 3rd trailer introduces the Scarlet Forest, taking players away from the desert and into a more lively environment. However, the crimson waters hint that not all is as it seems in these forests.
More specifically, the Scarlet Forest is home to Lala Barina. This giant spider makes use of its sharp limbs to skewer hunters, with its body unfurling into a deadly rose-like form during the course of the fight.
Some other aspects of Monster Hunter Wilds also made an appearance during this latest trailer, including a look at Kunafa. Kunafa is a settlement in the Windward Plains, which players can come and go from seamlessly.
This seamless aspect of Wilds also plays into the overall gameplay structure, as you can grill food or take on quests without needed to return to base. Expanding on the companions of Monster Hunter Rise, it’s possible to take NPC hunters into the field if you have any openings — this even works online now!
