Monster Hunter: World has shipped over 20 million units
Monster Hunter: World has hit yet another sales milestone, surpassing 20 million units shipped worldwide.
Originally launching for consoles back in 2017 with its PC release following a year later, Monster Hunter: World has been a huge success for the franchise. It’s now the best selling game in the entire series, and that’s without including sales from its expansion, Iceborne.
The success of World seems to have transferred over to Monster Hunter Rise as well, with the — currently Switch-only — title reaching 7.5 million sales. This number is guaranteed to grow even further once the game releases on PC early next year.
Despite the growing pains reworked mechanics and massively overhauled 3D assets brought, World managed to improve upon many parts of the long-running franchise. Its sprawling areas and fun gameplay still make it worth going back to — personally, I’m looking forward to replaying the PC version via Valve’s upcoming Steam Deck.
