Tetsuya Nomura shares more info on Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, mobile spin-offs

In a recent interview with Famitsu, Tetsuya Nomura shared some more details on the multiple Final Fantasy VII titles that are currently in development (thanks to @Nibellion and Gematsu for the English info).

Nomura confirmed that Episode Yuffie will be the only piece of DLC for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, with the main focus being on the sequel for now. He also mentioned that Sonon will not be controllable during the DLC, though he can team up with Yuffie to perform certain moves — this can be seen during the first Intergrade trailer.

On the subject of mobile games, Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier is designed as a way to entice new fans to the series via the battle royale genre. It’ll contain a style system that works similar to jobs from the Final Fantasy series, which cater to different play styles.

Meanwhile, it was confirmed that Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis will be free-to-play, featuring a gacha system for weapons. Probably not what most people were hoping to hear, since gacha can often ruin game balance for those that don’t want to pay, though it could end up turning out OK.

More Final Fantasy VII news is planned for the next few years, with Nomura commenting that “It seems the busy years will continue for a while to come.”
