Muv-Luv Kickstarter Funded Instantly – PC, Vita and Android

It is to no ones surprise that the Muv-Luv Kickstarter has been fully funded in less than 24 hours after it was announced, fulfilling its $250,000 goal. This is one of the most popular visual novel series of all time. While we did have a fan translation, now a much broader audience can finally get their hands on these masterpieces and see what all the fuss is about.

This localization is a huge undertaking as the trilogy has well over 100 hours of gameplay, and which amounts to more than 2.7 million Japanese characters in the script.

This version of the game will offer:

The latest and most up-to-date HD graphics available. We’ll be using assets not only from the PS3 version of Muv-Luv (Extra + Unlimited) and Muv-Luv Alternative (including Takeru’s voice) but updated stuff directly from âge-soft.

An updated game engine to ensure full compatibility with Windows 7, 8, and 10. (The current version only supports Win XP and 7)

Updated User Interface, Options, and Menus. Additional enhanced functions never before seen in any version of Muv-Luv (Extra + Unlimited) and Muv-Luv Alternative.

Among the stretch goals for now are additional CGs, OSTs an BGMs, more unlockable content, the Vita and Android port, a digital lore browser and a port of the PS3 exclusive side stories.

Currently the kickstarter has gathered over $440,000 and is on a sure way to get a Vita and Android release.

There are also a ton of goodies as backer rewards, form the physical copies of the games, plushies and TSF robot figurines, to TSF Pilot Jackets and pillowcases.

The three games that make up the Muv-Luv trilogy are: the stereotypical comedy dating sim, Muv-Luv [Extra]; teenage boy gets recruited by the military and learns to pilot a giant robot, Muv-Luv [Unlimited]; and finally the grown men cry, Muv-Luv [Alternative].

The action really rakes off in Muv-Luv Alternative which by many is considered the best visual novel to date. Whereas the lighthearted story and the typical high school setting of Muv-Luv Extra may put off some players, it ultimately makes for a much more enjoyable experience in the trilogy as a whole.

All three games have top of the line production values, featuring some of the best visuals, music and voice acting in these kinds of games.
