The Kickstarter campaign for Muv-Luv managed to become the highest earning visual novel crowdfunding to date, netting in over $1.2 million. The campaign was funded almost instantly. Muv-Luv is one of the most popular visual novel series of all time and it just goes to show that there is demand for visual novels in the west.
The Kickstarter campaign managed to pass all the stretch goals. The initial stretch goal included additional OSTs and BGMs with improved voice acting, followed by Vita and Android versions. The $600,000 goal insured that fans would get the official Muv-Luv Codex, a digital lore browser. The game will also come with the translated version of the PS3 exclusive side stories, Photon Melodies and Photon Flowers. Backers that paid $150 or more for the Collector’s Box will also be getting an amazingly adorable Sumika Figma.
Muv-Luv Extra and Unlimited are planned for a March release, while Muv-Luv Alternative will be out in summer 2016.
