New Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia Trailer Looks at Strategy

Nintendo have released a new Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia trailer, titled ‘A Master Class in Strategy’! It’s a five-minute rundown of the bits and pieces that have previously surfaced about how the game plays, looking at Classic and Casual modes, the world map, dungeons, and changing a unit’s class! Check it out below:

There’s some exciting stuff in there! Picking up items from the base and the expanded town exploration seem like neat additions. The ability to go into extra battles as and when you want on the world map, and the regenerating enemies between locations, it looks like there won’t be any need to worry about levelling up units either.

A particularly interesting new feature is Mila’s Turnwheel. Though generally limited to one use per battle (which is probably just as well), it seems like it will be a really good way to avoid some last turn shenanigans messing up a whole battle. It’s exciting just to sneak a better look at the English version of the game too!
