I’m a big fan of Godzilla, from the excellently made Godzilla (2014) to the zany antics of Godzilla: Final Wars (2004), I love it all. The games have always been a little hit and miss, but a lot of them have been generally a lot of fun. As long as it’s not super retro and confusing like Godzilla: Monster of Monsters for NES.
The Godzilla Game Boy game was also pretty bizarre, but was also incredible so all is forgiven,
But a Godzilla game at its best gives us a taste of what we really want: massive destruction, ideally involving cities.
Not much has been revealed yet of Bandai Namco’s Godzilla (at one point called Godzilla: the Game), but we’re pretty excited to see it coming over here when at one point it looked to be a Japan-only title. The screenshots of the PS4 version seem to promise some next-gen city destruction, and also boast a variety of Godzilla’s greatest foes. I’m hoping as more news comes out it will get a little more fan-servicey, but only time will tell! Check out the screens below!
Why do we love crushing up cities so much? Well…
