A new Haruhi Suzumiya novel is being released after a 9 year hiatus
You can add this to the list of unexpected events in 2020. The second half of The Surprise of Haruhi Suzumiya came out all the way back in 2013 and, while there have been a handful of manga volumes released afterwards, The Intuition of Haruhi Suzumiya is the first new light novel to come from the series since then.
While The Intuition of Haruhi Suzumiya itself might be new, the 12th novel is actually a collection of three stories. Two of these were already available through other media, with the third story, Tsuruya’s Challenge, being original to this release.
Yen Press announced on Twitter that a digital English release for The Intuition of Haruhi Suzumiya is planned for November 25, the same day as the Japanese version. They’re also planning a physical print release some time in the future.
The series still has a dedicated fanbase, though it doesn’t seem to have the same influence on newer light novel and anime fans. Either way, let us know if you’ll be picking up The Intuition of Haruhi Suzumiya on release.
