Gamers have been on a roll recently in regards to discovering new quirks of popular video games. This time, while it doesn’t involve a hot plate, NieR: Automata‘s well-hidden cheat code is just as intriguing.
This new cheat was discovered by Lance McDonald, who initially shared a video on Twitter of the code being preformed in-game.
*mild NieR: Automata spoilers ahead*
By inputting the cheat code during Automata’s opening gameplay sequence, you’re instantly taken to the finale of Ending E. If you haven’t seen it yet, then it might not be too spoilery without context, but we’d recommend that you experience the full game for yourself first.
If you’re interested in learning more about what NieR: Automata director Yoko Taro considered the game’s ‘final secret‘ (thanks to Siliconera for the translated Famistu interview), then check out Lance’s video on how he discovered it after ‘Hundreds of hours of reverse engineering.‘
