Nier: Automata on Steam will finally be updated this week

The initial release of Nier: Automata on PC via Steam was, to put it bluntly, pretty terrible. A significant number of players had to rely on a third-party mod just to get the game functioning properly, and even this didn’t guarantee that everything would be fixed.

Well, a few months after announcing that the Steam release would be updated in line with the Windows 10 version, Square Enix has finally revealed that an update is coming on July 15. Said update mainly brings some graphical changes to the game, including 4k UI support and HDR.

Unfortunately, it’s hard to tell if this will fix all of the lingering issues the Steam version of Nier: Automata has. There are mentions of “stability related fixes”, though that could mean anything. Hopefully this update brings the changes players have been asking for — they’ve been waiting for more than four years after all.
