Nier Replicant remake has surpassed 1 million units shipped

Square Enix recently revealed that NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… has now reached more than one million units across physical shipments and digital sales.

The confusingly named remake has been a huge success when you consider how niche the original NieR Replicant and Gestalt were. A solid modern release and the popularity of its sequel, Nier: Automata, have both helped this classic Yoko Taro story reach a larger audience than ever before.

Speaking of Nier: Automata, the game also managed to reach another sales milestone. Physical shipments and digital sales have now reached six million, putting total shipments for both games at over seven million — not bad for games that follow on from a joke ending.
