Nintendo holding Super Nintendo World direct tonight

Nintendo will be holding a special Direct for Super Nintendo World, a new area opening in Universal Studios Japan next year.

The Direct will take place at 11 PM GMT, lasting around 15 minutes. Because Nintendo know how their audience can act sometimes, the announcement tweet specifically mentions that ‘No game content will be featured’.

Tune in on 18/12 for a special SUPER NINTENDO WORLD™ Direct livestream! We'll spend roughly 15 minutes showing just some of @USJ_Official’s new area, #SUPERNINTENDOWORLD. No game content will be featured.

Some footage of the theme park area has already been shared by journalists who were invited by Nintendo earlier in the year, though this Direct should show more of the attractions that will be available.

Super Nintendo World opens in Universal Studios Japan on February 4 2021, assuming that there are no further delays. Hopefully everything will settle down by then, so that those of us in Europe and around the world will be able to visit the park soon.
