Nippon Marathon out now on Steam Early Access

We’re obviously fans of the ridiculous here at Rice Digital, and so we’ve been keeping our eyes on a little upcoming game called Nippon Marathon, a hilarious multiplayer racer from Onion Soup Interactive coming to Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4 and Steam later this year.

As the game is now out on Steam Early Access, we have been treated to a fantastic update of new features. Firstly, they have added two more stages to chaotically Naruto run through. These are the Unsafe Sake Facility, complete with falling bridges and exploding barrels, and the banana-throwing monkey laden onsen, Steamy Steamy Monkeys.

Furthermore, they’ve added new ‘Boss’ characters to unlock; Handsome Hazuki, Shiro Hideko, KG Park, and Felix Arizona. All of these are purchasable in the in-game store using Yen earned by playing the game. Also, in the latest update, Onion Soup Interactive are giving enough in-game currency to buy at least one of these characters.

Other changes and features in this update:

  • – New race-affecting extras such as ‘No Items Mode’ and ‘Turbo Mode’ purchasable from in-game shop.
  • – Tweaks to the fruit machine mini-game, gifting items on completion and adding Carp and Shiba.
  • – Resolution Fixes
  • – Additions and tweaks to options and saving.

Nippon Marathon is out no on Steam Early Access, and is coming to Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4 and XBox One in Autumn 2018. If you want to see us having some of the guys from PQube over to play the latest version with all of the updates, watch the video below, and bask in the Hat of Shame. Keep an eye on Rice Digital in the future for more updates on this game.

Spread the love!
