Norn9 and Code: Realize Coming to PS Vita This Fall!
Following the announcement of Amnesia: Memories this April, Aksys Games have now added two new games to their otome list: Code: Realize ~Guardian of Rebirth~ and Norn9 Var Commons! Both titles are from Idea Factory and are set for release this fall. The games are PS Vita exclusives, with NA having their pick between digital and physical, and the EU settling for digital only.
An otome game is primarily aimed at a female audience and stars a female heroine. Gameplay usually involves the player romancing a number of eligible bachelors with the aim of winning their hearts at the end. Otome games tend to come in the form of visual novels (similar to an interactive storybook with anime graphics) or simulation games, and are most popular in Japan. The rarity of such games being brought over to the West by the official publishers makes Code: Realize and Norn9 even more special. Needless to say, English otome fans are very excited over the news!

If you like romance mixed with steampunk, you’ll definitely like this game! Set in Gothic-Victorian London, you play as a lonely girl named Cardia, who is literally too toxic to touch! About to be captured by guards, you are helped by five handsome literary and historical figures, including Arsène Lupin, Abraham Van Helsing, Victor Frankenstein, Impey Barbicane, and Count Saint-Germain.
Restricted to an abandoned mansion on the outskirts of London in fulfillment of a promise to her father, lonely Cardia lives day to day isolated from the world. Her body carries a deadly poison that rots or melts anything her skin touches, prompting the locals to call her a “monster.”
Her last conversation with her father two years ago, telling her to stay out of sight and never fall in love, is the furthest back she can remember. One day, her quiet solitude is interrupted as the Royal Guards break in to capture her. It is then that Cardia meets Arsène Lupin, a chivalrous thief, who helps her escape the soldiers’ clutches. She soon finds herself on a journey with Lupin to locate her father, who holds the answers to her mysterious condition. The two are soon joined by four more interesting and handsome gentlemen…”
Norn9 Var Commons
In Norn9 you experience a fantastical story of supernatural powers and beautiful airships. The tale revolves around 3 young women and 9 men, all of whom must make difficult decisions in order to reach their goal. You, the player, dictate their actions and decide their fate from the viewpoint of three different women. Complete all possible routes and a secret, ‘true ending’ will be revealed.
While on a school field trip, child prodigy Sorata Suzuhara wanders off after hearing a mysterious song and blacks out. When he comes to, he finds himself in unfamiliar place, and soon encounters a girl who informs him that he’s currently in turn of the century Japan.
In order to help him get home, Sorata follows her to a ship that she’s waiting for but when it appears it is not a wooden sailing ship, but a round aircraft that flies using technology that is beyond Sorata’s imagination. Even stranger, he discovers that the other 12 passengers — 3 young women and 9 men — are all supposedly espers with special powers, and are on some kind of journey at the behest of a multinational entity only known as The World.
What is the purpose of their journey? What is their destination? Who is The World? Before Sorata can even begin to take stock of his situation, the ship is attacked, and the mystery surrounding the ship only deepens. Delve into the story of the ship and its occupants through the point of views of each of the three girls, and unravel the mysteries trapped within.
