Ōkami sequel announced, directed by Hideki Kamiya

In a surprise announcement, Capcom revealed during The Game Awards 2024 that a Ōkami sequel is now in development.

The teaser trailer reveals very little, but it does end with a big reveal — Hideki Kamiya is once again returning as the game’s director. Kamiya, part of his new studio CLOVERS — absolutely a homage to the now-defunct Clover Studio — is joined by multiple original Ōkami staff members (and PlatinumGames employees) across M-TWO and Machine Head Works.

Details are currently scarce, though Capcom has set up a site for the Ōkami sequel which contains an overview of the project and his team. A new game bundle has also launched to celebrate the announcement, combining Okami HD and the unique action strategy title Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess.
