Persona 5 English Story Trailer Revealed at PSX

Persona 5 may have been pushed back to early April in the west, but that doesn’t mean the hype train is going to slow down. Atlus dropped a Persona 5 English story trailer for the game this year at the PlayStation Experience that gives an introduction to the story of the phantom thieves. It’s worth noting Persona 5 is the best game of 2016.

Even though we still have to wait until April 2017 to get our hands on the English version of the best game of 2016, it’s at least nice to look at trailers. In the grand scheme of things we’ve only just been introduced to the English voice acting, and this gives us a nice long look at a few scenes. There are also a few shots of localised text, too.

The story of Persona 5 is about the Phantom Thieves, a group of students who end up meeting over a year of school and due to their shared ability to summon Persona and enter into people’s hearts, decide to start stealing the “ambitions” of criminals and forcing them to reform and give themselves up. Naturally the scale of their “mind heists” ramps up and they get embroiled in some pretty heavy situations.

Persona 5‘s story is great. The mechanics are great. Heck, even the UIs are great. It is, after all the best game of both 2016 and 2017 thanks to its split Japanese and Western release dates, which makes it twice as good as any other game of the year. That’s just maths.
