Pikotaro joined by Pikachu for latest music video
Okay, this is a strange one. So… do you remember that Pikotaro guy? Also known as Kazuhito Kosaka, he’s the comedian responsible for the surreal “pen pineapple apple pen” song that went viral in 2016 and inspired all kinds of copycat vids. Here, in case you need a refresher:
It’s all coming back, right?
Anyway, the entertainer has just produced an equally odd, equally catchy music video, only this one stars the lovable yellow mascot of the Pokemon franchise.
Titled “Pika to Piko”, the video features the pair dancing together, while Pikotaro attempts to translate the gobbledegook Pika-language, with medium levels of success. It’s pretty excellent, not least because of the spectacle of Pikachu in Pikotaro’s trademark leopard print scarf and sunglasses. Definitely worth a few minutes of your time.
The video’s description describes it as “A dream collaboration with the world-famous Pikachu!” which makes sense, as it certainly feels like I may have dreamt the whole thing.
