Pokemon Trading Card Game coming to iPad is good news indeed and a perfect fit. Ever since I discovered Pokemon TCG online – I’ve been coming back to it over and over again. It works so well as a digital game, in fact I’m surprised Nintendo haven’t released a hand held version, as I loved the Pokemon TCG on Gameboy.
I’m assuming that the iPad version will work similarly to the online version (it certainly looks similar) where you begin with a free basic deck, earn a few extras in the rudimentary single player battles, and then have to purchase further decks and boosters with real money. In a nice touch, when you play online, any real world decks you buy can also be played online too.
Here’s hoping Nintendo don’t implement as horrible a pay scale as the one in Magic 2015.
Nintendo confirmed that the Pokemon Trading Card Game coming to iPad would be out at the end of the year. This will be the first time Nintendo has put a ‘full’ game onto hardware that they don’t own themselves. I’m guessing the lure of hard, Pokemon TCG cash was too strong to pass up.
