Project Triangle Strategy announced, free demo available

Not content with just announcing remasters of classic games, Square Enix also revealed during the latest Nintendo Direct that it’s working on a strategy RPG with the working title Project Triangle Strategy.

In Project Triangle Strategy, Serenoa, heir of House Wolffort, must guide warriors into a battle for dwindling resources. The choices he makes will revolve around three convictions – Utility, Morality, Liberty — with different choices affecting where the story goes.

As you can see from the trailer, the game uses an art style similar to Octopath Traveller, mixing 2D sprites with 3D environments featuring pixelated textures.

For a brief taste of what Project Triangle Strategy will offer, check out the game’s demo. If this is anything like the aforementioned Octopath Traveller — or Bravely Default II as a more recent example — Square Enix will likely make use of feedback from the demo to make improvements ahead of the game’s 2022 release window.
