Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water censored in US
Yup. You’ve read that right. Fatal Frame, rated M for Mature in the US, has been censored in the form of having risque outfits removed from the game – because adults can’t make decisions, right?
The outfits in question are unlockable bikinis and I struggle to see why they’re an issue, especially as they’re entirely optional. Thankfully, according to reports, the EU version has seen them left intact which raises the question as to why Nintendo think they’re fine for one region and not another. Maybe Nintendo deemed them too scary.
Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water releases in North America (where it’s known as Fatal Frame) on 22nd October and the 30th October in Europe, perfect for Halloween. Early review scores have been mixed but I’m still excited to play it.
