Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis “Sandstorm Requiem” update launches next month

Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis will be receiving its first major content update with the release of “Sandstorm Requiem” on December 15, 2021.

Announced during the latest NGS Headline, Sandstorm Requim will bring Chapter 2 of New Genesis’ story, set in the new Retem Region — Retem is primarily a desert, compared to the greenery found in previous areas. This area also features Nadereh, a new character important to the main story.

In addition to the story content and additional area, each class will be receiving a new skill and increased level cap, with Force and Techter gaining access to extra elemental techniques as well.

Sandstorm Requiem will hopeful deliver the content Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis players have been asking for since launch. The game was released in a rather bare-bones state, while also causing issues with the original PSO2, so major updates have been a long time coming.
