Real World Puzzle Campaign for Layton’s Mystery Journey Launched

There’s only one month left until the Japanese release of Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires’ Conspiracy, the next Professor Layton game. A new trailer of the game was released along with an ambitious worldwide puzzle solving campaign!

Layton’s Mystery Journey will feature a new main character. You will play as Katrielle Layton, the daughter of Professor Layton, on a quest to find her father who has gone missing. Check out the new trailer released today:

To promote the game, Level-5 has paired up with SCRAP, a company specialized in real escape games. They intend to challenge players with 50 different puzzles during a campaign which starts today and ends on September 21st.  The first puzzle is promoted by Pikotaro himself in the video below:

You can register on the official website of the event to try solving all of them. So far, only three of them have been published, but there is a countdown for the release of the next puzzles. Some of them will also take place in real world locations in the UK (probably London, given that it is the city in which the game takes place), the US, Australia and seven other countries.

And as if it wasn’t enough, the items you will acquire by logging in to the website will be carried into the main game.
