Rose and the Twilight of the Old Castle Spiritual Successor to htoL#NiQ
htoL#NiQ: The Firefly Diary was one of my favorite games of 2015. It was dark, gory, disturbing and cute all at the same time. Rose and the Twilight of the Old Castle is a natural continuation of that idea, made by Nippon Ichi Software and the director of htoL#NiQ.
Like the name implies you help Rose, who because of a curse, has a giant rose growing on her back. She is joined by a Giant, who serves as this game’s firefly of sorts, as they try to escape from the decrepit castle they found themselves in.
Rose will be able to suck in the color from red objects and transfer it to other objects. The giant will be able to carry rose or even toss her over obstacles. The giant is only able to interact with red objects, so you will be constantly switching back and forward between the duo.
For a full demonstration of this unique system is available on the game’s official site.
Rose and the Twilight of the Old Castle will be released exclusively for the Vita in Japan on April 28. The boxed version will be 4,298 Yen, whereas the downloadable version will cost 3,086 Yen. The game will also have a limited edition premium box for 6,458 Yen which will include a luxury box, artbook, original soundtrack and a rubber stamp of Rose.
