Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin passes 500,000 global sales

Despite the many delays, and an inconsistent year for gaming (among other things), Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin seems to be doing quite well.

XSEED Games and Marvelous Europe have revealed that the rice farming action-RPG has managed to sell over 500,000 copies worldwide across all platforms.

Sakuna Accolades

XSEED Games executive vice president Kenji Hosoi had this to say about the game’s success:

We’ve known that Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin was a special game and would have broad appeal since our first meeting with Edelweiss,

The game has been in development for many years, and we’re beyond excited at the reception it has received globally from critics and consumers alike. Thank you to everyone who has accompanied Sakuna and her companions on their journey!

These are some impressive sales numbers, especially for a two-man development team. Edelweiss hopefully have some time to relax now that Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is available to the world, though we can’t wait to see what the team works on next.
