Scar-Lead Salvation looks to be anime-style Returnal, and it’s releasing later this year

Idea Factory International has announced another Compile Heart title coming west during 2025, this time the roguelite shooter Scar-Lead Salvation.

Launching for PS4, PS5, and PC via Steam on May 29, 2025, Scar-Lead Salvation sees an amnesiac Willow fighting her way through an abandoned military facility filled with out-of-control robots. Aided by a mysterious AI, she must fight through the facility to learn more about her past and perhaps finally escape.

Scar-Lead Salvation’s gameplay takes on a similar style to Returnal, as you dodge shmup-style bullet patterns and picking up new powerups each run. Dying is not the end, as meeting an untimely end sends you back to the beginning for another attempt — naturally, each floor of the facility will change layout each time.
