Sephiroth out now in Smash Ultimate (if you can defeat him)

Shortly after the DLC overview stream by director Masahiro Sakurai, Sephiroth was made available in Smash Ultimate… though you’ll have to fight him first.

Sephiroth’s release date is technically on December 22, though you can unlock him early by participating in the ‘Sephiroth Challenge’.

Owners of Fighters Pass Vol. 2, or the separate Challenger Pack 8 DLC, can face Final Fantasy VII‘s villain in this new mode. By defeating Sephiroth on any difficulty, you’ll be able to play as him before his proper release next week. The Northern Cave stage, and all nine music tracks, will also unlock early.

Fighters Pass Vol. 2 now has three of its six characters released in Smash Ultimate. The remaining fighters are set to be available in game by the end of 2021, with no further Fighter Passes planned at this time.
