Seventh Shantae title in development

During Limited Run Games’s LRG3 2025 stream, WayForward revealed that a new entry in the Shantae franchise is currently in development.

Shantae series director Matt Bozon appeared to thank players for the reception to Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution, which released earlier last year after originally being cancelled all the way back in 2002. He also confirmed that there’s nothing to share on this seventh entry in the franchise at the moment, other than the fact that it exists.

With the reveal coming during LRG3 2025, along with WayForward working with Limited Run Games in the past, it’s safe to assume that any potential physical release for the seventh Shantae will also be handled by them as well.
