Shenmue 3 is due out at the end of this year. The first 2 games are stone cold classics, but the original is still only available on Dreamcast, and the sequel Dreamcast and Xbox Original. Fans have been desperate for HD updates for years, and Sega have shown some interest in doing it, with no results so far. Now, ShenmueHD.com exists.
It’s not impossible that this is a protective move by Sega just to make sure nobody else snaps up the domains. After all, that’s what seems to have happened with the correct spelling of ShenmueGame.com — but it could be that they’re finally getting ready to make a move with bringing the games out once again.

If it really is a defensive move, then Sega have never thought to protect any of the above. If you want to sit on them then you can go ahead and buy them. Shenmue is apparently a big enough deal right now for Sega to want that on lockdown, either so you can’t have it, or because they finally decided they wanted to make some more money on some of the greatest games ever made.
