Marvelous has released new information on Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash and it’s making some waves here in the office – a mix of Senran Kagura, Splatoon and water fights? Marvelous already have us sold but now we know a little bit more of exactly what we’re getting into.
The Senran Kagura shinobi don’t lead quite the shinobi life that you think they may do – so far they’ve competed in cooking competitions, Summer festivals and the odd fight to the death, but lately things have been a lot more chill with the girls of Senran Kagura and it seems to peak with this – a water gun fight. The water gun tournament has existed in the world of shinobi for as long as they can remember and with water guns being the only weapons you can use – and your shinobi skills off-limits – it’s down to the girl’s dodging abilities and accuracy to bring victory to their team.
More than 30 girls will be participating in the ‘Peach Beach Splash’ midsummer festival where you’ll be able to play through both a main story and multiple side-stories that focus on each of the girls. The actual battles themselves will be 5v5 matches where you’ll need to aim at your opponent’s breasts and bum to defeat them and, yes, clothes become soaked and damaged.
There will be online multiplayer where you can customise your character and water gun, and you can form a team of up to 5 people to fight against another team. If this doesn’t already excite you, then maybe the thought of planned PlayStation VR support will do it for you?
Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash is due to release in Japan on 16th March and it will be exclusive to PS4. A Western release hasn’t been announced yet, but it’s safe to assume it’s going to happen! In the meantime, check out new artwork for the Hanzo girls below.
