Sonic the Hedgehog is getting a Green Hill Zone themed Lego set

Hot on the heels of Mario‘s Lego debut, Sonic the Hedgehog is getting his own Lego set based on the iconic Green Hill Zone.

Originally pitched on Lego Ideas by creator toastergrl, the set is based specifically on Sonic Mania’s Green Hill Zone. This means that the Egg Robot mech makes an appearance, along with other Mania specific enemies.

Only two set ideas that reached 10,000 supporters on Lego Ideas were approved, including Sonic Mania’s Green Hill Zone. The set was meant to have been reviewed in a previous review round, but ended up being delayed until this year.

Last year, a fan-made Sonic Mania project reached 10,000 supporters on @LEGOIdeas.

As mentioned in the blog post, the final design, price, and availability are still being worked on, and more news will be shared closer to the set’s release.

A Sonic the Hedgehog Netflix series was also revealed this month, titled Sonic Prime. With all these Sonic related projects happening in 2021, it feels like a game announcement should be far off.
