Sonic the Hedgehog Movie Delayed To 2020

I might have personally not minded it, but a lot of people took great issue with the recent trailer, and so I’m not really too surprised to hear that there will be a Sonic the Hedgehog Movie delay, according to Paramount Pictures.

In a tweet, director Jeff Fowler has said that the already much maligned live-action movie has been delayed from its previously planned November released to February 14th, 2020. He said that they’re “taking a little more time to make Sonic just right,” also saying that “no VFX artists were harmed in the making of this movie.”

Fowler previously confirmed that the character design for Sonic would be altered following fan feedback. On May 2nd, Fowler tweeted, “Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear… you aren’t happy with the design and you want changes. It’s going to happen. Everyone at Paramount and Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be…”

In case you missed it before, we’ve put the debut trailer for the Blue Blur’s live-action movie below. But what do you think of the Sonic the Hedgehog Movie delay? Were you looking forward to it, or happy it’s being given more time?

The Sonic the Hedgehog movie will be released February 14th, 2020.
