Sony Unveil New Nioh PSX Trailer

Sony are publishing Koei Tecmo’s epic looking Nioh in the west, so it’s only fitting that a Nioh PSX trailer was dropped at the big show. We’ve given Nioh plenty of coverage so far, but it’s gone through a lot of player tested Alphas to refine the game. This PSX trailer gives us a look at what to expect next year.

The trailer takes a look at some of the brutal combat the game has quickly gained prominence for. The fighting is stripped down to the extent where even a fight against a single enemy can be challenging if you’re not paying attention.

It’s easy to compare it to the BloodSouls series, but Nioh has its own style going on. Players of the Alpha demo may notice some differences with what’s been shown off in this trailer. The visual design really evokes the Sengoku period of Japan, in which the game is set.

But it’s not all scary demons. The CG looks gorgeous, and it looks like there are some more varied and eye-catching environments than simply dark villages.

With how much they’ve tested Nioh out on real world players it really seems that Koei Tecmo are set on making the game the best it can be. Nioh launches pretty soon on 9th February 2017 exclusively on PlayStation 4.
