Spirit Hunter: Death Mark gets new DLC nearly 8 years after its original release

Despite releasing 8 years ago in Japan, horror adventure game Spirit Hunter: Death Mark has just received its first piece of DLC content… for the Switch version at least.

Spirit Hunter: Death Mark Chapter 7 Kaerazu’s Amusement Park sees returning character Moe Watanabe searching for the protagonist at an abandoned amusement park. Moe is helped along the way by other characters from the main game, as she discovers the park’s secrets.

It’s an odd choice to release DLC this late after launch, only one on platform, and for a game that has multiple sequels (including the full numbered follow-up Death Mark II). Even more so just shadowdropping it with no fanfare — the eShop page is also sparse, only feature a short description and no images.
