Square Enix unveils new HD-2D action RPG The Adventures of Elliot: The Millenium Tales
Hot on the heels of multiple other HD-2D projects, Square Enix has announced The Adventures of Elliot: The Millenium Tales. Set to release during 2026 for Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series, and PC, this latest RPG is set to offer something a bit different from the current HD-2D line-up.
That’s because The Adventures of Elliot is an action RPG rather than turn based, with its titular protagonist able to run through the world and take on enemies with a number of weapon in real-time.
For Switch 2 owners, a “Debut Demo” is now available for download. It contains an early section of the game (most likely different from what will be present in the final release), ending on a boss fight. There’s no news on whether this demo will eventually make to other platforms, which is a shame since The Adventures of Elliot is multiplatform from day one unlike Octopath Traveler or Triangle Strategy.
