Standalone sequel Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 announced

More Cyberpunk anime is on the way, with CD Projekt Red and Studio Trigger formally announcing Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 at Anime Expo 2025.

Very little has been shown so far, outside of a teaser trailer (full of heavy spoilers for the first season) and poster art. We did get confirmation that Kai Ikarashi, who took on a number of roles for the development of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, will make his debut as a director for the second season.

With Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 having no release window, it’s likely that we’ll be waiting a while for this standalone sequel to be ready for release.
