Life sim sandbox Starsand Island hits Kickstarter

A Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign has started for Starsand Island, a PC sandbox farming and life sim.

Starsand Island takes place on the titular island, as your character returns to the place of their childhood and creates a home of their own. You’ll be able to work through a number of professions, including farming and fishing.

According to Seed Lab, the developer of Starsand Island, the crowdfunding campaign exists to help expand their vision. Their current budget is enough for the core of the game, but additional funds would allow for new areas and features.

Starsand Island currently has a Q4 2025 release window for PC via Steam. Console releases are also being considered, though there are no platforms currently announced.
