Steins;Gate 0 Delayed in Japan Box Art Revealed
The next installment for the popular Steins;Gate series is just around the corner, titled Steins;Gate 0. This time travel science fiction story made a splash in the west with its amazing anime adaptation. But it was not until recently that we got a translation of the original visual novel which has also been a smash hit.
Steins;Gate 0 will be a true sequel of sorts, taking place in the Beta world line. Additionally the game will contain three of the Steins;Gate light novels as well as some of the contents of the drama CDs. The production of the anime is already underway so we cannot but be excited for this installment as it is shaping up to be huge.
Steins;Gate 0 was planned to be released on November 19 in Japan, but it has now been delayed to December 10. The publisher of the game, 5bp. has stated that this is because they plan to further increase the quality of the game. They also teased fans by saying that they are also planning a special surprise in the future.
Steins;Gate 0 isn’t the first sequel to the original game. Unfortunately, none of the other titles got a release in the west.
In 2011, 2 years after the original, we got a Windows exclusive called Steins;Gate: Hen’i Kuukan no Octet also known as Steins;Gate 8-bit. This was a short but satisfying non-cannon game that reproduced the look and feel of PC-88 computer games accompanied with text commands and various bad ends.

Earlier that year Japan had Steins;Gate Hiyoku Renri no Darling for the Xbox 360, PS3, PSP, Vita and iOS. This game has Okabe Rintaro travel to another world line where the lab members keep working on new gadgets. When the group doesn’t have enough money to pay the electrical bill, mayhem ensues.
