Steins;Gate 0 is going to be more than just a sequel to one of our favourite games of the year. The Steins;Gate 0 RINE Trigger System will be replacing the Phone Trigger System we’re used to, one of the defining features of Steins;Gate and the primary way for players to interact with the story. And it looks great.
The Phone Trigger System in Steins;Gate was great, but really quite limited. In Steins;Gate 0, however, you can now exchange messages in real time. Characters will react to what you say, and you can even use cute stickers! This way you can carry out conversations while progressing the main story of the game in a much more naturalistic way, getting updates for new messages in the top left of the screen.
It’s a bit hard to explain, but the video above makes it quite clear that this will be a welcome step away from the somewhat stiffer phone system in the original game, as great as it was!
Steins;Gate 0 will launch in Japan on December 10 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita.
