Style Boutique 3 Ignores Gender to Bring Fashion to All – Sales Mitch
I included New Style Boutique 3 – Styling Star on my top 15 games of 2017 list last year, and it’s safe to say that I had a few questions about it. A dress-up sim, really, Mitch? I adore the Style Boutique games, known as Style Savvy in NA and Girls Mode in Japan, so give me a chance to convince you why you should check it out!
In the past I might’ve claimed this to be my ‘guilty pleasure’ game, but it’s a series that I’ve become proud of enjoying.
Style Boutique 3 puts you into the stylish shoes of an aspiring fashion designer, and you’re handed control of your uncle’s boutique once he decides to travel the world. With little experience and a boutique that requires a lot of work, it’s up to you to bring your savvy knowledge of fashion to the city.
Now, now, you may dismiss this as a mere dress-up sim, but really it’s a chill journey where you work hard to realise your dreams and go from zero to hero in the land of fashion. Doesn’t that sound lovely?

A comfy night in and spending some alone time with myself is sometimes what I need, and Style Boutique 3 is one of my games of choice when I want to relax. Its bright colour is infectious and it never fails to cheer me up. In the past I might’ve claimed this to be my ‘guilty pleasure’ game, but it’s a series that I’ve become proud of enjoying — guilty pleasure no more. That would be a disservice to the developer, and they’ve made an incredibly fun, easily accessible dress up game that I adore, and now I’m here to spread the word!
You’re able to freely customise your character and boutique, and it’s up to you to which brands and outfits you stock. You stay afloat by selling to and pleasing customers, although there’s never any stress — customers are always willing to give you a second chance, and there are never any negative disagreements. Style Boutique 3 is pure, unadulterated joy, and there’s a great sense of achievement in sharing that joy with others.

I’ve spent hours picking out the perfect outfit for a character, even if they’d be happy with something that’s a little more haphazardly thrown together – you’ve gotta do it properly, right? If I don’t have stock, I’ll ask them to return later and I’ll pop down to the suppliers to grab more clothing.
It’s my own personal boutique, and I won’t be having customers be anything less than fully satisfied! Again, this is a rewarding feeling, because it’s always nice to be nice. It allows you to explore “the Golden Rule” in game form — to treat others how you would want to be treated.

The likes of Stardew Valley and The Sims are hugely popular and while Style Boutique is quite evidently aimed primarily at a female demographic, there’s nothing to say that you can’t enjoy it as a male. You should never felt embarrassed to play Style Boutique (obviously I, a manly man, unashamedly love it). If you’re at all interested, then you should definitely pick it up and give it a go — there’s even a demo on 3DS if you need a little push!
It’s almost as if everything Style Boutique 3 does is done with the intention to make you happy.
If they bring Style Boutique to Switch, then you can bet that I’ll be picking it up day one. Style Boutique is one of the most relaxing, uplifting game series out there, and it’s almost as if everything Style Boutique 3 does is done with the intention to make you happy. No matter who you are, I recommend checking out Style Boutique 3 and enjoying all that it has to offer — because you might find yourself falling in love with it sooner than you think.
