Super Mario Bros. movie delayed to 2023

Nintendo has announced that the Super Mario Bros. movie, which was originally intended to release during 2022, will now be delayed to next year.

More specifically, the movie is set to launch on April 28 in Japan and April 7 in North America, with an overall Spring 2023 global release window.

No exact reason was given for the delay, only that the decision was made after discussions between producers Shigeru Miyamoto and Chris Meledandri.

Currently, very little has been shared about the Super Mario Bros. movie, despite the project being announced all the way back in 2018. The September 2021 Nintendo Direct did reveal a few cast members though (which have been heavily memed since then), including Chris Pratt as Mario.
