Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania adds Jet Set Radio’s Beat

Jet Set Radio’s Beat is joining Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania as an unlockable character, Sega revealed today.

The Jet Set Radio franchise is one that Sega rarely acknowledges, so this crossover is somewhat surprising. In Banana Mania, Beat ditches his usual roller blades for a giant ball — though he’ll still be picking up cans of spray paint instead of bananas.

Sonic made an appearance in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD, so there’s always a chance he’ll join Banana Mania as well. With Beat’s inclusion, it’d be nice to see a few more Sega characters added to the collection.

Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania launches for Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam on October 5, 2021. It brings together remastered stages and minigames from Super Monkey Ball, Super Monkey Ball 2, and Super Monkey Ball Deluxe.
