Switch Ver. 20.0.0 update brings support for Virtual Game Cards, GameShare and more

The Nintendo Switch Ver. 20.0.0 update is starting to roll out globally, bringing with it a number of features revealed during the Switch 2 direct earlier this month.

After the update, you’ll have access to some new icons on the Switch’s main menu. The Virtual Game Card option lets you share digital titles between two Switch systems, or lend them out temporarily to other members in your Nintendo Account family group.

Meanwhile, GameShare is mostly unusable right now. It allows some software to be shared for multiplayer purposes locally, though this can only be done by a Switch 2 (which naturally isn’t available right now).

Another Switch Ver. 20.0.0 feature that relates more to Nintendo’s upcoming console is the option to system transfer to a Switch 2. This lets you transfer over accounts, software, most data and settings without needing to re-download everything.
