Revealed during Gamescom: Opening Night Live 2021, very little was actually shown for Tales of Luminaria.
Simply listed as a new project that is “coming soon”, the trailer showed off a few brief seconds of gameplay. While nothing is confirmed just yet, the characters shown in the trailer were all original, unlike the other crossover heavy mobile games.
Dropping news of a new mobile title at a western focused event was certainly a bold move by Bandai Namco — two mobile Tales games have already shut down globally, with the surviving Tales of Crestoria only being a year old.
Maybe Tales of Luminaria will be a different enough experience from the company’s previous attempts, though we’ll have to wait for more substantial info to be revealed at this point.
