TGS Summer Lesson Trailer Promises “Human Interaction”

Yeah, “human” spelt “a-i”, right? Bandai Namco have shown off a brand new trailer for their upcoming PlayStation VR game Summer Lesson, also known as “the only reason you will buy a PlayStation VR”. This trailer actually gives a fairly chunky look at the game in action.

Yes, the game promises not only a “sense of presence”, but also “human interaction”. The trailer takes a look at Hikari and her room, where you will spend some time mentoring her and helping her grow as a person. Maybe in turn she will help you grow as a person too?

TGS Summer Lesson Trailer 1

Hikari will speak with you and interact with you as if you were really her sensei helping to coach her education through summer break. She’s friendly and bubbly, and will even share glimpses of her life with you. At one point in the trailer she shows you a photo on her phone. It’s an interesting use of VR to put you not into a video-gamey world, but a different real world situation.

Don’t worry, it’s not just about hanging out in a girl’s room. There’s also metre management so you can make sure Hikari is getting on okay, and also some other locations to explore, which the trailer teases at the end. Of course keep your eyes peeled for the maid outfit I guess?

TGS Summer Lesson Trailer 3

The premise of Summer Lesson might not be all that out there to people already familiar with Japanese games like this, but the proposition of experiencing it in a VR environment certainly is. It makes the experience a lot more personal, and forces you by your presence within the game world to consider what you’re doing and your relationship with Hikari game in a way more reflective of yourself than perhaps, say, Love Plus does.

Summer Lesson launches on 13th October 2016 in Japan as a PlayStation VR launch title! We’ll be keeping a close eye on it for sure!

Spread the love!
