Undertale’s Toby Fox contributing tracks to cult classic RPG OFF’s Steam release
Fangamer and developer Mortis Ghost have revealed that Toby Fox will contribute a number of music tracks to the 2025 Steam release of OFF.
OFF is a 2008 PC RPG Maker title (still available to download for free today), detailing the journey of someone known as the Batter as they venture through a surreal world. Its unique style ended up inspiring a number of indie RPGs over the following years.
One of these is Undertale, with Toby Fox’s involvement involvement in the OFF re-release bringing things full circle. He’s handling a number of tracks (even enlisting the help of musicians Carlos Eiene and Camellia), including different variations of the regular battle theme.
The new soundtrack exists due to original composer Alias Conrad Coldwood not wanting to sign onto the project. According to Fangamer, he’s alright with OFF on Steam going ahead with the new soundtrack, though no (official) way of selecting the original OST will be offered.
