Classic PS1 platformer Tomba! gets Special Edition treatment
Limited Run Games has revealed that it’s bringing back classic PS1 platformer Tomba! for modern platforms.
Titled Tomba! Special Edition, this enhanced release will come to PS5, Switch, and PC via Steam on August 1, 2024 — a PS4 version is also planned, but currently has no release date.
New additions to the Special Edition include more save options, a museum including development documents (among other things), and a remastered soundtrack.
In the past, both Tomba! titles have had a few licencing issues in the west, potentially stemming from the seemingly defunct MonkeyPaw Games. With Tomba! Special Edition, it looks like these issues may have finally been solved (even if the sequel is MIA for now.)
