We might be a little addicted to mobile titles in this office, with me especially sinking considerable time into at least five of them, but we’re pretty much united in one of them; Fire Emblem Heroes. To one degree or another, we’re all hooked on the little strategy RPG, and so we’re very excited about the fact that the next big update has landed today.
Book III brings with it a fantastic new trailer, which we have posted on the bottom of this article, which shows the four new characters and gives clues to the ongoing, dramatic narrative. The four new characters are denizens of Hel, the Realm of the Dead and invade Askr shortly after the Order of Heroes defeat Múspell. Hel, the sovereign of this realm instructs her daughter, Eir, to infiltrate the Order to annihilate them from within whilst the her army, led by Líf and Thrasir, attack Askr.
With this big expansion to the story of the game comes various other updates including the addition of four new seasons (Light, Dark, Astra, and Anima) that will have different affects from the four current seasons and also grant new blessings tied to the new Mythic Hero character type. The first of these Mythic Heroes will be Eir: Merciful Death, whose power will be linked to the Light season, but we will have to wait to see what Mythic Effect this will have.
There will be a new summoning event beginning with this update; Hero Fest. In this event, the heroes focus will be on Owain, Ophilia, Lewyn, and brand new character Eir. Also, with this new event will come a new item called First Summon Tickets. These will allow you to waive the five Orb cost of the first summon, and there’s currently a daily login reward of one First Summon Ticket per day. Beware though because these will only be valid with the summoning event they’re tied to, so make sure you use them! In January, First Summon Tickets will also be available as rewards during Forging Bond Events too.
Speaking of which, the next Forging Bond Event has been announced to feature characters from Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, and will introduce a new unit type. These units will be able to transform into powerful beasts in battle (which means we’re, excitedly, getting the Laguz!), of which the first will be Tibarn: Lord of the Air. Obviously, we all know Tibarn as the king of the Hawk Clan of Laguz, so now our mind is whirring as to who else they will add.
Finally, the trailer announced that a 5* Eir, the princess of the Realm of the Dead, can be acquired by completing Chapter 1 of Book III, which is accessible right now. Even players that are new to the game can jump in and unlock her immediately. Phew, that’s a lot of information from a single trailer.
Fire Emblem Heroes Book III is available right now! Do you play Fire Emblem Heroes? Are you excited for the new characters, and summoning event? What do you think of the game so far?
