Trails beyond the Horizon confirms January 2026 release date

Initially set to launch during 2025, The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon now has an updated release date alongside a new trailer.

As shown at the end of the new “Unprecedented Mission” trailer, Trails beyond the Horizon is now set to release on 15 January 2026. As announced alongside the initial delay, it’ll be coming to Switch 2 alongside the original Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC.

Trails beyond the Horizon continues the adventures of Van Arkride and his ragtag group of workers and friends as the continent of Zemuria is set to enter the space age. Familiar faces such as Rean Schwarzer and Father Kevin Graham make a return too — it’s the latter’s first playable appearance since all the way back in Trails in the Sky the 3rd.

Check out the official website for a look at the game’s main cast of characters (naturally there are spoilers for a number of previous entries.) Physical Limited Edition copies are still available via NISA Europe’s store as well, though the Switch 2 version is still just a game-key card over a proper physical release.
