After hinting at its existence for the past year, Falcom has finally revealed that a remake of The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st is in development.

While the reveal made up just a few seconds of a longer game showcase in the recent English Nintendo Direct, a longer trailer made an appearance during the Japanese Direct.

Planned for release worldwide during 2025, the Trails in the Sky the 1st remake features a more colourful artstyle compared to recent Trails titles. The trailer also hints at seamless town to field transitions, along with the removal of Daybreak’s action combat systems (though battles are still entered with no load screens.)

The only mysteries right now are which company will publish The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st in the west, and whether other platforms are planned. Gematsu reached out to Falcom for comment, and both of these questions don’t have definitive answers for now.
